Front Nine (Out)

Hole 1 — Westward Ho · Par 4 · S.I. 15

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 320 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 308 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Short opener but accuracy is everything — hazard left, trees right. Gently sloping green bunkered front-right and left.

Hole 2 — Sedge · Par 4 · S.I. 1

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 365 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 356 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Tight dogleg left. Drive must avoid the trees left and stay up on the plateau to open the narrow green, bunkered both sides. Hardest hole on the card.

Hole 3 — Target · Par 3 · S.I. 5

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 197 3w 3w Hyb Hyb
White 177 Hyb Hyb 4i 4i

Long uphill par 3 — long iron or rescue. Bunker right; sharp falloff left and through the back. Par is a very good score.

Hole 4 — A. R. B. · Par 5 · S.I. 17

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 457 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 442 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Birdie chance. Aim at the left fairway bunker to open the green; beware water ~20 m short-left and tight OB down the right. Very wide green.

Hole 5 — Cracroft · Par 4 · S.I. 3

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 382 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 356 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Demanding dogleg — drive must be straight to the corner; wayward either way leaves a long second to a raised, shallow green. Bunker right of the green.

Hole 6 — The Gap · Par 4 · S.I. 11

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 349 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 335 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Plays longer into the easterly. Drive must split the left fairway bunker and trees right. Raised green slopes away to the back and left.

Hole 7 — Casbolt · Par 4 · S.I. 7

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 388 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 362 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Premium on accuracy — hazard right, trees left. Demanding second to a narrow two-tier green bunkered both sides.

Hole 8 — Poplar · Par 4 · S.I. 13

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 347 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 340 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Beware the poplars ~170 m off the tee left. Aim left of the fairway bunker to open the green, which slopes back-to-front. Bunkers both sides.

Hole 9 — McKenzie · Par 3 · S.I. 9

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 176 Hyb Hyb 4i 4i
White 165 4i 4i 5i 5i

Very tight long par 3. Raised two-tier green falls away on three sides with bunkers left and right — par here is excellent.

Back Nine (In)

Hole 10 — Bridge · Par 5 · S.I. 14

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 462 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 448 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Risk-and-reward par 5 reachable in two, but the creek left of the trees must be avoided. Laying up leaves a short-iron third.

Hole 11 — Terrace · Par 5 · S.I. 10

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 505 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 493 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Long par 5 — drive over the hill, slightly left. Green guarded by trees right and bunkers left; the two-tier surface makes putting tricky.

Hole 12 — Simmy · Par 3 · S.I. 16

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 133 7i 7i 8i 8i
White 123 8i 8i 9i 9i

Tight short hole — hitting the green is a must, with sand left and a sharp drop-away right. Flat putting surface.

Hole 13 — Mercer's Corner · Par 4 · S.I. 8

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 344 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 344 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Sharp dogleg left — long iron or rescue to the apex. Mid-to-long iron to a long 40 m green; be up to avoid three-putts. Bunkers both sides.

Hole 14 — Goff · Par 4 · S.I. 12

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 338 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 316 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Premium on an accurate drive to the corner of the dogleg, avoiding the trees left. Short iron to a wide two-tier green bunkered both sides.

Hole 15 — Three Oaks · Par 4 · S.I. 2

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 404 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 379 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Toughest par 4 on the course. Drive straight to the bottom of the hill; the second can be blind. Avoid the trees right short of the long narrow green.

Hole 16 — The Knoll · Par 4 · S.I. 6

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 370 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 344 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Drive left of centre — anything right is blocked by trees. Good drive leaves mid-to-long iron to a kidney-shaped green that runs very fast back-to-front.

Hole 17 — Sou' West · Par 3 · S.I. 18

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 137 7i 7i 7i 8i
White 137 7i 7i 7i 8i

Short but exposed to the southerly. Watch the trees left and short; wide green with bunkers front and left.

Hole 18 — Waitikiri · Par 4 · S.I. 4

Tee Dist (m) 6°C 13°C 20°C 27°C
Blue 408 Dr Dr Dr Dr
White 392 Dr Dr Dr Dr

Excellent finisher — trouble both sides off the tee. A good drive leaves a second to a large green sloping gently back-to-front.
